Going to the movies on the Gold Coast is just as popular as anywhere else.
Most people know about the major cinema chains, but the Gold Coast has a great independent that even the locals don't know about!
Find an unsual and rather quaint Gold Coast movie theatre in Sanctuary Cove. For arthouse try the Gold Coast Arts Centre Cinema.
And then there is the drive-in! Those summer nights! Bundle the kids in the car and head up to the Yatala Twin Drive-In Theatre. A great treat for the family. Movie Marathons are an even greater bonus!
My pick for a mainstream cinema is Nerang's Cineplex Cinemas.
Nerang's Cineplex Cinemas are the best kept secrets of the Gold Coast! The best value around. Tickets are usually half the cost or even less of a regular cinema tickets! Even with high petrol prices it is worth the drive to Nerang! I recommend you book ahead so as not to be disappointed, booking online is easy - I always do this myself. Some movies show in 3D as well at great prices.
Another great treat whilst there, why not stop for fish and chips at the Brophy's Seafood - great fish and chips and excellent value. Say 'Hi!' to Matt and Jayne for me and tell them Annie sent you!
