Best Months For Budget Trip To Gold Coast

by Yvonne
(Malaysia)

Looking for a leisure and budget trip to Gold Coast Australia.

Which month is best to for leisure and budget for visiting Gold Coast?

I will try to answer as best I can, so I hope you don't mind me answering the question as below:

Which month is best for maximum fun and best value on the Gold Coast?

To answer that, there is almost always the same amount of fun to be had on the Gold Coast! The Gold Coast theme parks and other attractions are open all year round. Events and shows differ throughout the year and the beach is really all year round, but may be a little cooler than you are used to from Malaysia in our Winter Months (but we still go!).

So the next part of the question relates to holiday budget or the cost of trip to Gold Coast Australia.

In general, there are a couple of main discount times of the year in the Gold Coast and they fall outside of the main Australian School Holidays. You also need to look at the large events on the Gold Coast calendar which affect the prices of accommodation and flights at certain times.

Here are some months to look out for good value trips to the Gold Coast.

February and early March (up to the school holidays in this month) is a time where the Gold Coast is usually quite quiet as the schools have headed back after the long summer holiday and the expenses of Christmas and the holidays keep people away. Sometimes you can pick up good value flights and accommodation at this time of the year.

However, it is not always the case are there are some events in February that bring in competitors and spectators for some of the local events such as the Ladies Golf and the Surfing Events around the southern end of the Gold Coast.

May, June, July, August and early September are other times when you might pick up a great deal with except when the school holidays are on in late June, early July and late September.

There are a few pockets during October, November and December before Christmas that can also offer great value but those months you have to watch out for Gold Coast 600 Motor Race (accommodation costs are very high during this week) and Schoolies in late November/Early December (one you definitely want to avoid if you can).

There are a few times of the year to check out good times to visit the Gold Coast on a budget. I hope that helps you, please let me know by leaving a comment if you have any more questions or if I haven't answered your question.

Peak Times on the Gold Coast are More Expensive
by: Annie

Andrew, I agree that those are great times to visit the Gold Coast, but they are not always the low season as it depends on when the school holidays fall.
Thanks for the suggestion, I shall have to check it out. Cheers Annie

Best time on the Gold Coast
by: Andrew

The Gold Coast is great all year round. But my favourite times of year are Spring and Autumn. I really like March / April and September / October. A great place to stay in the Southern Gold Coast is Currumbin Cottage.
