Is January the best month to visit Gold Coast ?
Very simply, if you are from overseas and don't HAVE to visit the Gold Coast in January, personally it would NOT be the top of my list of months to visit.
The main reason for this is that January is a very busy month on the Gold Coast with Australia on holiday! It is the peak Australian school summer holidays and families flock to destinations like the Gold Coast making it busy both on the beaches and at the various attractions and theme parks.
It is also a warm, humid and often stormy month with some of the higher rainfall for the year.
If I was choosing, I would not say that January is the best time to visit the Gold Coast. However, if you don't have any choice due to your own school holidays or work holiday requirements or if you want to go to the Magic Millions Horse Racing Sales in Janaury, then you should come prepared for the weather and the crowds of people in January.
