Harley Seafood Labrador Takeaway Reviewed
Harley Seafood Reviews
Firstly, this is what they say about themselves!
Harley's
is back!
Harley Seafood Labrador was originally located on the site of the
Aqua building. When Aqua was being built, Harleys had to
close!
Now they are back right next to Baskin Robbins ice
cream
Fresh fish, including local oysters, prawns, crabs and bugs.* See comments below
Takeaway cooked seafood, fresh salads and fish and chips. Open
for Lunch and Dinner.

What I say
Unfortunately restaurants and cafes do change hands or things change and it is virtually impossible to keep up, if you have any comments, please let me know and I will try to keep this up to date.
Updated: June 2010
I am very sorry to say that I have completely reverse my original views on this fish and chip shop in the Gold Coast. I don't know if it is the financial crunch or a change of ownership, but the standards at Harley's seem to have dropped.
I hadn't been for a while, actually I tried but they were closed early, should have been a warning sign. When we finally managed to be there when they were open I discovered that Hoki is no longer the standard fish, unfortunately it has been replaced by the imported Basa. If you want Hoki you have to pay for it.
This establishment now loses my vote as my favourite fish and chippy. Time to look elsewere.
I received this comment which prompted me to update my review, so thank you for your comments Jonathan and if you want to start a review and thread where you can keep it updated please go over to Labrador Restaurants and leave a review there.
Jonathan and Friends comment in June 2010:
2 out of 10 from us.
PLease update your website recommendation i.e. New Zealand Hoki IS NOT in the fish and chips - VIETNAM BAITFISH BASA IS... We asked for New Zealand Hoki, and the rude staff said we had to pay extra. There is NO FRESH SEAFOOD AVAILABLE - i.e. oysters, prawns, crabs and bugs as advertised.
We realise it is a takeaway, but have to mention the service is absolutely appalling.
Unfortunately restaurants and cafes do change hands or things change and it is virtually impossible to keep up, I have left my original views below because some of the other features still stand.

Please read this in conjunction with my latest review and comments above.
Harley Seafood Labrador
is my favourite local fish and chip takeaway! Yes! That is right, I
pick
it over Charis Seafoods.
The main reason is that
I love that they use New Zealand Hoki as their standard
fish and
chip which is a cold water fish. This
would make it popular Brits
,
New Zealanders and anyone who enjoys the taste of cold water fish!
There
is always a selection of other types of fish - both
local and
imported. They will grill, batter or crumb the fish
- however you like it!
There
are a couple of bar stools right outside the shop where you
can eat overlooking Marine Parade and the Broadwater.
Or you can take your
meal up
the road to Harley Park at the
Labrador
lagoon and sit on the
beach, or take it home.
And don't forget, dessert
is right next door at Baskin Robbins! This is a real family
holiday treat!
The family that runs this used to also run the sit down restaurant Harley Seafood
on the Harbour at Hope Island Shopping Village, but that has now been sold to new owners.
Other Cafes and Restaurants at Aqua Labrador
Harley Seafood located at Aqua Labrador is just one of several places to eat in Labrador. Here are some of the other options for eating at Aqua or other Labrador restaurants.
- Lime Leaf Thai - Thai food.
- Baskin Robbins – Ice Cream.
