July is a fairly quite month for events, but there are still a couple to consider.
At this time of the year there are also Christmas In July events, usually lunches that are run at various venues.

Australian Gold Coast Events July
You will see surfers all year round at the Gold Coast and July is no exception. Just because it is a Winter month, the Gold Coast's beaches are still welcoming.
July on the Gold Coast can be stunning or cold! Us locals feel the cold more than visitors!
It's a bit of a quiet month for Gold Coast events during July, however we have the annual Gold Coast Marathon usually on the first weekend of the month. This year we also have a fantastic sounding VIVA Elvis, scroll down to read more about this event.
The early part of July usually co-incides with Australian Mid Year school holidays. There are NO public holidays in July in the Gold Coast.
July is a popular time for visitors from overseas. In particular those from the VERY HOT middle eastern countries, who love to visit the Gold Coast for some rest from the heat. Many local restaurants put on special Halal menus during this time of the year.
Most of the attractions in Gold Coast, especially the theme parks, have facilities to enable visitors from the middle eastern countries to eat and observe their traditions without too much difficulty.
I often get asked questions about going to the beaches and swimming in Gold Coast in June or July or whether the Gold Coast water parks are open in July.
In short the answer is a resounding YES. The Gold Coast facilities are designed to be used year round and there are often some amazing days where you would be hard put to say it was winter!
As a family we often go to the beaches during the winter months, we pick our times and may not stay quite as long as during the hot summer days but we still enjoy swimming in the surf, walking along the beaches and making sandcastles!

Gold Coast Highway, starts at Southport Broadwater Parklands opposite Australia Fair
Also known as the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, the full marathon goes down to the airport and back to Southport.
Events include full Marathon, half Marathon, 10km Run, 7.5km Walk and Junior Dash. Options for just about all ages and talents. Plenty to see and be involved in along the way. Local radio station broadcasts music to help keep everyone going! If you are staying along the route, you might end up with a fairly early wake up call!
Roads are generally closed off from around 4.30am. Reopenings are varied along the route.
Gold Coast Marathon course maps. Marathon extends from Coolangatta in the South to Northern Labrador in the North and the roads affected are those along the Gold Coast Highway and surrounding streets.
Best to stay near the start and finish! Southport, Labrador, Main Beach and Surfers Paradise are the best options.
Elvis - Viva Surfers Paradise

Elvis Tribute Festival that recalls the great days of rock n roll. Expect to see jumpsuits, black leather, flared pants and blue suede shoes. There are tribute artists, beach cinema and lots of Elvis look alikes and wannabees. You've got to love the man who brought swaying hips to the world.
It usually runs over 2 weekends and includes an Elvis Tribute Artist contest where contenders battle it out for a spot in the Memphis Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contents in USA!
In addition to spotting Elvis, there are often shows and other tribute artists.
Stay close to the action in Surfers Paradise or if you prefer to keep away, choose Broadbeach - though I cannot guarantee you won't hear a little or see some stray Elvis's!
