Cavs Steakhouse Surprisingly Child Friendly

Cavs Steakhouse is surprisingly child friendly!
The first time I went to Cav's Restaurant, which is in Frank Street, Labrador, I was really apprehensive as we were meeting up with some old friends from Melbourne who we hadn't seen for ages. We were taking our then 5 year old out to dinner without her sister who normally keeps her occupied during such dinners.
I thought Cav's was a place where only adults went to eat great steaks (oh and the steaks and ribs are truly AWESOME!), so as it got closer to the schueduled dinner I got more and more nervous.
I armed my daughter with her sister's Nintendo DS - aka the electronic babysitter, and a bag of assorted goodies including drawing pencils and paper.
We arrived at Cav's and met our friends. We were ushered to a table which was in an almost separate room towards the back of the main restaurant which had this little cubby hole of a room off it. As it turns out, this was an entertainment area for kids! This was such a totally unexpected bonus!
There was room around the tables, the menu had lots of things on it that kids like. I didn't check for a baby change table in the toilets, so someone else can perhaps let us all know if there was one (not top of mind for me as my 5 year old was well out of that stage!).
So, I would have to wholeheartedly recommend Cav's Steakhouse in Labrador on the Gold Coast as a child and family friendly restaurant.
If you are still not convinced, you can also try the ribs, rump sausages and steaks in your own home or holiday apartment as they have a butcher shop right next door which I also love!
The butchers at Cav's Butchery are brilliant and always look after you so well. They take such an interest in my kids, so much so that the kids readily come into the butchers with me to buy our food. They also have ready made meals and salads, so you can stock up on great food without having to do heaps of preparation which is awesome for holidays.
Let me know if you have tried Cav's Steakhouse and what you think about it...
