Best Gold Coast Theme Park Passes For My Family

My family are visiting the Gold Coast from W.A. for 6 nights.

Children are 13, 11, and 8 years. I am thinking that the VIP Passes seem best value and cover the Parks that would best suit us.

We may spend some shorter days at a particular Park and do return visits on other days.

Do you have alternative suggestions?

Is it best to pre-buy online or are they readily available once we arrive?

Lisa, thank you for this question, all the right information for me!

Firstly, I want to clarify that the theme parks you want to see are covered by the VIP Pass (and Super Pass and Escape Passes) which are Sea World, Movie World and Wet n Wild.

VIP Passes are a seasonnally offered promotional deal offering unlimited entry to these parks until 30 June, and although you cannot re-enter the same park on any given day, you can visit more than one park on a day.

They are only available for a limited time each year and are often the best deal around when you can buy them. Check out the other options for theme park passes.

Since your children will be between 3 and 13 years inclusive when you travel, they can all have child tickets.

Super Pass is also an option and it is valid for 28 days unlimited entry to the three theme parks: Sea World, Movie World and Wet n Wild. When the VIP Pass is on offer, it is a better option than the Super Pass.

Buying tickets and passes ahead of time can save you money (for example, buying the VIP pass when it is on offer, even if you won't be using it straight away) and time. The reason I say time is that there is a bit of paperwork to fill out so you can print it out, fill it in and have it all ready for faster entry to the park on the first day. So I would recommend you purchase your theme park tickets ahead of time.

The only other thing you may need to work out is how to get to the theme parks. If you are planning on having maximum flexibility I would recommend you hire a car - as Wet n Wild and Movie World are about 20 to 25 minutes drive from Surfers Paradise depending upon the traffic. And parking is free at all the theme parks.
